Why do I need to be assessed before using these leaflets?

Quite often patients may have similar symptoms, but due to different causes, for example a knee pain may be due to arthritis, gout, meniscal tears etc. By assessing you, your physiotherapist can determine the reasons and causes of your symptoms, allowing them to plan your treatment and give you the information you need.

What do I do if I haven't been assessed by a clinician?

If you haven't been assessed by a physiotherapist yet and would like general advice to help you manage your symptoms, please take a look at our other patient advice.
